With Christmas done and over and the new year rapidly approaching, I find that it is very easy to let myself get caught up in a busy an stressful mindset, instead of the calm and refreshed one that should come with the start of a brand new year. That being said, I must add that there is nothing more pleasurable than taking a day off from the stress of life and just doing something that you enjoy. Today was one of those days for me, and I look forward to many like it in the upcoming new year. I started off the day with a trip to T-Street beach in San Clemente, with my significant other Sean. I admit, I did try to get in a little workout at first, but that ended rather quickly, since I have been fighting a cold and I’m not exactly in shape currently. However, despite the failed attempt to get in some exercise, I did enjoy just looking at the waves and warming myself with a cup of coffee, while Sean did some sprints up and down the beach.
After a beautiful morning on the beach, it was time for a delicious gluten and dairy free breakfast. Finding places that serve gluten and dairy free items can be challenging, but in San Clemente, and several other places in soCal, Banzai Bowls, provides the perfect solution. With an entirely dairy free and mainly gluten free menu, the place gives plenty of options for those of us on a selective diet. Today I went with the Pupukea pitaya bowl, which contains; granola, bee pollen, bananas, raspberries, kiwi, strawberries, coconut shreds, and pitaya. The bowl was amazing, and I will definitely return to have it again.
To finish off the day, Sean and I simply walked around the pretty beach town, popped into a couple of stores, and of course, took a few pictures to put on here. As for what I wore, I kept it simple today with my favorite pair of boots and a sweater and I added a scarf, just to jazz it up a little. As always, location of purchase can be found at the bottom of the page.
