In light of the fact that I have done very few beauty related posts here thus far, I thought that I would make today’s post about my current beauty favorites. The items below range from skincare to perfume, all of which I use every day.
Botanics Organic Facial Oil
I’ve read in a few different magazine articles recently, that moisturizers can cause or worsen breakouts, but that facial oils are a worthy substitute, for hydration without the pore clogging. I decided to test this out with this fairly inexpensive oil (seriously, only $15 at Target), and I am already in love. This particular oil smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth and hydrated. I haven’t used any other face oils, but my normal moisturizer is the Frank Body standard moisturizer, and I can say that the oil is far more soothing than moisturizer is.
No7 Stay Perfect Mascara
Mascara is without a doubt one of my all-time favorite beauty products, but with long days, crazy work schedules, and my distaste for waterproof mascaras, it often left my eyes smudgy and dark by the end of the day. This particular mascara is not waterproof but by some miracle, it really does “stay perfect” all day long, even when my shift starts at 5 am and I don’t wash it off till around 9 pm. Seriously, try it. Available at Target.
Items 3 & 4
ELF Beautifully Bare Cheek Glow and Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint
I hate heavy foundations, so this Glossier skin tint is the makeup of my dreams. Goes on smoothly, buildable, but sheer enough to never look cakey. Couldn’t recommend it more. As for the blush, it’s kind of an inexpensive substitute for Glossier’s new “cloud paint”, and it works for me. The color is soft and natural, so you need to use a little extra if you want more than a natural glow. Blush available at Target, Skin Tint available on Glossier’s website.
K. Hall Designs Peony Perfume
This perfume is NOT my signature scent, however, it is fresh and soft and floral and springy, and perfect for work or anything where I don’t want a smell that’s too heavy. The ingredients in it are also a plus because they are minimal and free of food coloring and dyes. Not to mention the packaging is adorable. Nuff said. (available at Melrose in the OC or online, here).
