While there are many, many artists I admire, including Edgar Degas, Norman Rockwell, Pablo Picasso, Mary Cassatt, etc. there are three classic artists in particular that have inspired me as of late. Below I have included just a few works that I adore, by my current favorites.
1. Ellsworth Kelly (1923-2015)
I admire the work of Ellsworth Kelley greatly, for its simplicity and elegance, which are qualities I try to include in my own art.
2. Henri Matisse (1869-1954)
I love Matisse for the vibrancy and life in his work. While his blue nudes (the first picture) have been rising in popularity again lately, I think these other pieces are just as worthy of the attention, don’t you?
3. Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901)
Just look at these beautiful pieces. I have Toulouse-Lautrec prints hanging in my room at the moment, and seeing them there makes me happy.
These were just a few works of art of the many that have caught my eye, so I hope to make more posts like this one soon if you’d like, to give you a taste of what I find most beautiful.
